Old Meycauayan Train Station

The Old Meycauayan Train Station located along McArthur Hi-way in Saluysoy has played a huge role in the history of Philippine-American war as it passed through the province of Bulacan. Anyone who has watched the film Heneral Luna by Jerrold Tarog might find it interesting that the actual Artikulo Uno was discovered by Gen. McArthur nailed in the door of this very train station. Also, it stood as witness to the bloody encounter between Gen. Antonio Luna and the American forces.

Efforts to conserve the building (which is one of the few two-storey train stations still standing today) have been continuously exerted, and as of 2017, the local government of Meycauayan had expressed their desire to revive the station in lieu with the reconstruction of the PNR line.

Right now, entrance is not permitted. The building had suffered from a great case of vandalism and deterioration,
but evidences of the past can still be seen in the structure.

Kaya't hindi pinalagpas nang magkaroon ng pagkakataon;

Anong naghihintay? Gaano kaganda ang pagkakataon?

San Jose Parish, Calumpit

I look back at the days when time brought me here,
just a few steps away from another home -
where family's close, where life slows down.
It's a place I want to go to right now.

I know it's not much, but it's something special.

Mahal na Poon ng Krus ng Wawa/Pagoda Festival, Bocaue

It wasn't my first time, but it still feels like so.
As I look around me, the festivity shows.
I bask on the warmth of faith of everyone,
remarkable, outstanding - comparable to none.

The proud spectacle of a crown-like beauty
embodies the joyous feelings of everybody
As I took in the unbelievable display of devotion,
My mind began to formulate some little questions.

A devotion backed up with a tragic story
Has undeniably captivated me;
And as I send myself to sleep tonight,
I hope that I have finally seen the light.

The Fiesta ng Mahal na Poon ng Krus ng Wawa is celebrated by the Parish of St. Martin of Tours in Bocaue, now a Diocesan Shrine. It is a popular piety, believed upon by thousands of devotees from all over Bulacan and other nearby provinces. One of the most anticipated parts of the said fiesta is the fluvial procession of the cross in the Pagoda.

Contrary to popular belief though, the Pagoda procession wasn't stopped after the horrendous tragedy on July 2, 1993. It was continued, only not as grandiose. Only last year, when Msgr. Albert Suatengco was appointed as parish priest did Bocaue got the permission to bring back the old times.

Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, San Jose del Monte

A seemingly forgotten house of the Lord
perched on a slope so far and so steep,
An unexpected palace where Royalties reign -
A chapel which gave me memories to keep.

Guarded by the faithful and the Mother from which it got its name,
It's a true sanctuary for the faithful.
Although a bit off-track, hiding from the urban,
It will shower your heart with blessings, full.

And as I wander my eyes to everything,
I stumble upon another realization:
That it doesn't matter if we are rags or riches,
It's our hearts that's put into consideration.

Indeed, a church, no matter how small,
is one filled with the unexpected.
And one of which is one I didn't expect:
sliced in half, a bullet.

Immaculate Concepcion Seminary, Guiguinto

A place so beautiful, a place so serene
A shelter of souls who heed their callings;
The sanctuary where faith is formed and honed;
A paradise made with wood and stone.

With its name taken from the Blessed Virgin Mary,
One cannot question its calming effect on me.
With the greens and blues complementing the space,
It emphasizes nothing else but solace.

The Immaculate Concepcion Seminary is located in Brgy. Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan. It has minor and major seminaries where the religious men of Bulacan are educated, honed and trained to be priests of the Diocese of Malolos.
